Biography
Dr. Richard A. White is Professor of Accounting and Moore Faculty Fellow at the
University of South Carolina's Moore School of Business and has taught at USC since 1985. Dr. White
received his Ph.D. at Arizona State University, his Masters in Accounting at the University of
Massachusetts and his Bachelors in Business at the University of Florida. He is a licensed CPA in
the state of Florida. He teaches individual income taxation at the undergraduate level and two
graduate tax classes in partnership and corporate taxation. He currently serves as the
academic director of the Master of Accountancy Program and is a past recipient of the South
Carolina Association of CPAs Outstanding CPA in Education Award.
Dr. White's current research interests deal in behavioral issues involving tax decisions. His
research has been published in
The Accounting Review,
The Journal of American Taxation Association,
Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, and
Advances in Taxation. He has served on the editorial board of Accounting
Education and has served as an ad hoc reviewer for the
Journal of American Taxation Association and Advances in Taxation.
