| (L to R) James P. Barrow (BS '62), principal in the Barrow Hanley firm; Jonathan Boyd; and John P. Harloe (MBA '75) |
Boyd is the recipient of the S. Travis Pritchett Investments Scholarship, which Harloe created to honor his mentor, Dr. Travis Pritchett, distinguished professor emeritus who taught at Moore for more than 25 years.
Boyd said he was "truly grateful" to Harloe for the opportunity to "see what my studies can yield." He spent time with analysts and portfolio managers and attended meetings "where recommendations for securities were announced and discussed. It was an awesome experience that allowed me to reconfirm my academic and professional goals."
A senior majoring in international business and finance, with a special focus on investing, Boyd currently holds an internship with the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission. He has also been involved with the Palmetto Institute and the Carolina Finance Club. He is a Capstone Scholar, a McKissick Scholar, a George A. Brizzolara, Jr. Scholar, an Elizabeth Joiner Scholar for French Minors, and a Passport Grant Recipient.
Harloe is a portfolio manager with Barrow Hanley.
