Undergraduate case teams score successes at international competitions


Two undergraduate case teams have achieved success at international competitions recently, including a second-runner-up finish in Thailand in August and a second-place finish at a competition in Singapore in October. The teams are led by advisor Pat DeMouy, lecturer of management.

The Thailand team finished ahead of the University of Southern California, UC-Berkeley, the University of Texas, and teams from nine other countries. Team members included: Brad Hocking, a senior double majoring in accounting and corporate finance, an Honors College student, and a USC baseball player from Greenville, South Carolina; Jenna Gonsalves, a junior double majoring in global supply chain operations management and marketing, minoring in advertising and public relations,

and an Honors College student from Columbus, Indiana; Dan Sizer, a senior double majoring in international business and finance, and minoring in Spanish and German, from Somers, Connecticut; and Raghav Mehra, from Calcutta, India, who is a senior double majoring in management and global supply chain management.  He also has a directed study in German.

The USC team finished second overall in Singapore behind the University of Florida and ahead of team s from seven other countries. Team members included: Branden Conrad, a junior double majoring in corporate finance and real estate, a transfer student from the U.S. Naval Academy, and a player on the USC basketball team, from Charlotte, North Carolina; Katie Platzbecker, a senior double majoring in international business and accounting, minoring in French and completing directed study in Chinese, from Medina, Ohio; and Brad Hocking and Jenna Gonsalves, who were also on the Thailand team.

In November, the Moore School will field a team to defend last year's #1 finish in Los Angeles at the annual Greater L.A. Chamber of Commerce Global Business Competition.
